Wow is it the middle of July already???? How did we get here? Wasn't it March, like yesterday???? Crazy huh.
So life in Anchorage has been pretty quiet for us the last month or so. Bret is still doing the construction thing on and off depending how busy the week is. Most weeks he works a minimum of 4 days, but this week he has off...so He's leading a nice and laid back life. I started my new job in the Case Management/Social Services dept. at the hospital. I'm one of 3 support staff people in the dept that take all calls and authorizations/denials of insurance claims for our in-patients. So far I totally love it! There are some really great people working there and you can't beat my ours of 6am to 12:30pm Monday thru Friday! Yippee! I know it's only the 3rd day...but my gut tells me this will be a really great fit for me! I'm glad to be out of the NICU as the deaths were/are getting too much for me...it was getting pretty hard to go in and face grieving parents every day....and you can only attend so many funerals for newborns.
Other than that we've just been relaxing. Lee and Bret's parents arrive at midnight Monday and Karen and Monty will be here for a week. We're REALLY looking forward to having Lee home and exploring the surrounding area with Bret's parents. Hopefully we'll be able to do some halibut fishing while they're here. The record was broken this year when a guy caught a 450lb halibut....isn't that nuts!?
